Sentencing and Related Matters by the Law Reform Commission's Review

The Zonta Club of Kowloon received invitation from the Law Reform Commission to submit comments on their Consultation Paper on “Sentencing & Related Matters in the Review of Sexual Offences” published on 20 November 2020.

The Advocacy Committee and the Legal Committee together have jointly summarized members' views and provided a consolidated reply to the Law Reform Commission on 11 February. We advocated that judges should be provided with powers to make mandatory treatment orders for offenders, and to obtain presentencing psychological or psychiatric assessment reports.
