Organization of Parallel Event at NGO CSW 67

Together with Hong Kong Federation of Women’s Centres, we organized a Parallel Event at 2023

NGO CSW (Commission on the Status of Women) which is held annually in New York with virtual

seminars. HKFWC holds special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the

United Nations.

Our Parallel Event was held on March 7, 2023, and the title is ‘Innovative & Technology Strategies

for addressing sexual violence & intimate partner violence in Asia.’ A total of 7 speakers from

the region was invited to speak on the above topic.

• Professor Carol Chih Chieh Lin, a distinguished Professor at School of Law at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University from Taiwan

  
  

• Ms. Sandy Sanchez Montano, Undersecretary/ Chairperson from Philippine Commission on Women from Philippines.

  
  

• Shailey Hingorani, Senior Advisor for Advocacy, Research, and Communications for Association of Women for Action and Research in Singapore.

  
  

• Busayapa Srisompong, a Human Rights lawyer and Founder of NGO SHero in Thailand.

  
  

• Sisi Liu Director from HKFWC & Winnie Teoh, Chair of Advocacy Committee of ZC Kowloon who combinedly presented the creative implementation of our research findings & major work to help

  violence victims at HKFWC.

  
  

All the presentations by these speakers have been excellently received. There were a total of 250 participants at our PE stands, with audience from 32 countries in Asia, Europe, and America.

With this project, Zonta Club of Kowloon has achieved a breakthrough in launching our advocacy activity at an international level. This is the highest level of advocacy for any women’s issues.
